Anything goes part 2!

Hello, are you cold, I am absolutely freezing!
It's perfect weather to stay indoors and do some colouring,
you still have a couple of days left to enter this months challenge on the Spectrum Noir Facebook page,  you can enter right here!

So the theme is anything goes which means you can make anything!...as long as you use the Spectrum noir range of course!

Here is a card for inspiration.

I have used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers on Neenah desert storm kraft card, the stamp is Woodware's Bold Bloom - Ruby (JGS401)
I picked this one as its so versatile, and I'm going to use it a couple of times over the next few weeks to show the different ways in which it can be coloured.

The colours I used are:
Leaves: CG2, CG3, CG4, DG3
Tulip head: BT7, BT9, CR10, BP7, BP4 BP7

Thanks for stopping by today,

Happy colouring

Lets make things clear!

Morning everyone, my goodness its a chilly one today!
Not sure this little Wisteria Fairy is going to be warm enough!
I made this card recently for my Mums birthday she is a very special lady and does such a lot for me and wanted a special card, so I chose this image from Aurora Wings, I don't know what draws me to images like this but I keep going back to fairies and Angels, I guess I just believe!

The technique I have used to create her transparent dress is very much like the technique by
Mila Popova over on the Spectrum Noir blog you will find her tutorial here.

I used my trusty blendable pencils in these colours:

Skin: 005, 008, 009, 088, 089
Dress and flowers in her hair: 076, 078, 081, 035
Hair: 084, 100, 106
Wings:047, 079, 075, 078
Shoes: 078, 079

As you can see, I tried to make her look as if her dress was transparent and wispy! And this was very easy to do thanks to Mila's fabulous tutorial.

Thanks for stopping by today, keep warm!
Happy Colouring

Birthday's for chaps, they always seem so hard!

Do you shy away from making cards for men?
Well I have no choice I'm afraid, because I have a whole house full! and last week my eldest son turned 22!
I can NOT believe that I am old enough to have a lad of that age, but sadly I definitely am!

So as he is quite a dapper young man I thought I would make him a card that reflected his love of smart clothes and made him this card!
I wanted to make the front of the card like a jacket and shirt!

The image is from Make it Crafty, and I used my Spectrum Alcohol markers to colour it as follows:

 Shirt BG1, pencil 055
Suit:BGR1, 2, 3 & 4
Tie: HB 1 & 3
Hat: IG1, 3 & 5
  Umbrella: GG1 & 3
Skin: CR3, FS3, CR1

Such a fun loving chap!

I also decorated the inside of the card with papers, and made it look similar to a jacket lining!

Sam loved his card, I hope you like it too and will give you inspiration for those tricky men's makes.

Happy Colouring

Anything goes!

Happy Sunday everyone, hope you are having a lovely weekend, can you believe we are in the second week of the new year already, I seem to have a lot of catching up to do!!

Talking of which... the challenge this month over on the Spectrum Noir Facebook page is Anything goes!
So I thought that instead of making a card I would make something else, and as it was my husbands 8 year old cousins birthday this week I would make her a door plaque for her bedroom.

Now Tia LOVES pugs! so the Mo Manning Pug Love digi was the perfect image.

To colour it I used a combination of Spectrum Alcohol markers and blendable pencils

The colours I have used are:
Fur: TN1, 084, 087, 103
Eyes: 095, 103, 104
Ears & Muzzle: BG5, BG6, 103, 104, 120
Cushion: 008, 009, 023, 103.

The word is that Tia loves it, and I must say I do too!

So with such an open category this month, why don't you make this months challenge the one you enter right here!

Happy Colouring,

Nicky

well if it was anything from Spectrum Noir then head on over to the blog for some help and inspiration on how to get the best out of your new goodies, you can take a peek even if Santa didn't bring you what you wanted too!!!

Over there today, I have shared a tutorial on how to colour dark skin, using the fairy from an October post, I chose this as lots of you request different skin tones and felt it would help.
