Morgan Fitzsimmons - A Country Life Launch.

Hi, today I am sharing some cards I made for the new Morgan Fitzsimmons A Country Life CD-rom and Stamps that launch from Crafters Companion on Create & Craft today.

As its feels like winter is finally here this week I thought I would share one of the stamps that is really wintery, I tried to avoid doing it as a Christmas card, as lets face it we never get snow at Christmas!

I have used my Spectrum Aquamarkers to colour this one in the following colours: Heather, Leaf Green, Chestnut, Fawn
Other supplies that I used are Sara Davies Festive Wonder Snowflake Dies & Embossing Folder,
Sheena’s Stamping card, Kraft card, Centura Pearl and Collall All Purpose glue.
I also used the CD-Rom from the collection to print out an A5 Co-ordinating paper, which I embossed with the snowflakes.

If that card is making you feel cold here's another card from the stamp range but this time I used spring colours!

The Spectrum Aquamarkers I used for this one are: Chocolate,Tan, Slate, Fawn, Topaz
Moss, Bud Green, Evergreen, Sea Green,
Some Other supplies: Sheena’s Stamping card, black card, All Purpose glue.
I printed an A5 Insert from CD-Rom for the front of the card, I find that if I am doing a simple layout the inserts work well and save a little of your precious printer ink!

I hope you like the range as much as I do, keep checking back as I have another 3 cards to share from this launch.

Here's a list of show times so get set to hit record!

Happy Colouring

Monday 25 January 2016

That feeling you get when you log in to your blog and realise that you forgot to press the 'Publish' button on not just one post but two.... Hanging my head in shame right now!

Ok so lets start again....

Morning everyone hope you had an awesome weekend, aren't they flying by so quickly? I don't know who stole January but I wish they would stop doing it!
Today I'm going to share with you a card that I made with the new Spectrum ColourBlend Pencils, I haven't had them very long but they are just as gorgeous as the last sets of pencils, the differences are that they have a much thicker core, so great for large area coverage, and they all have pretty names too!

I love these big butterflies from Sheena Douglass, and I just had to use them on the kraft card so I could show you how good the pencils really are.

Because of the large areas I could get some nice stroke work in as well as some depth.

The colours that I used are:
Mauve, Velvet, Blackberry, White,
Seafoam, Duck Egg, Emerald, Black

Pencils and Kraft card work so perfectly together and a wonderful example of this can be found on the Spectrum Noir blog, where you will also find lots of tutorials from the design team covering lots of wonderful techniques, you can view them here.

I hope you have a great day,
Happy Colouring

Happy New Year!!!

I know its the 10th of January already, how long is it ok to still say 'Happy New Year' anyway?

Well I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year, I spent a lot of time with family and friends just relaxing and doing very little of anything... except eating of course there was a lot of eating, and we don't need to talk about drinking do we?

So this year looks set to be amazing crafty wise, as I have already had a few sneaky peaks into new stuff coming into the crafty market place, you are going to love it all!

Getting back to business, there is a new challenge over at Spectrum Noir's Facebook page and because its the new year slump we thought it would be a great idea of having a super easy challenge...
'Anything goes'!
Of course you will still need to use your Spectrum Noir products, maybe you got some for Christmas, you could use those! But literally you can showcase any new project, and as always there is a £30/$30 prize on offer of Spectrum Noir products.

For inspiration I made this...

It's a little art journal, and has plain pages so I can draw directly on the pages, I love to doodle and I also have lots of little stamped pictures and digis that I colour for practice that really need to be stuck into a book along with their colour combinations, so this year that's where they are all going to go!

I chose colours that went with the backing papers, to colour this Saturated Canary image, do you do that or colour then find a paper?
Here is a list of the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers I used:
Skin - FS2, FS4, FS8, FS9
Hair - TN4, TN7, EB6...
Tshirt - PP2, PP4, PP5, DR1, DR6, DR7
Jeans - GT1, GT2, JG3, JG5
Shoes - IG1, IG2

I use pencils so much I had forgotten just how much I love my markers, it made a very refreshing change.

To play along this month all you have to do is click HERE and you will go straight to the Facebook page, where you can upload your project and see all the important T's&C's!

Happy New Year everyone, and remember...

Happy Colouring!
