Sneaky peaky time!!!

Good afternoon, hope you are having a great Friday.
As the title suggests, I'm going to share a little sneaky peak of a new product launch from Crafters Companion.
If you loved the Scruffy Little Cat range that launched last year, you are going to just love these new Scruffy Little kittens, that feature boys as well as girls, and lets face it we all need boy cards right?

I coloured this little sweetie with my Spectrum Aquas for Creative Stamping magazine which will be on sale in June ( the list of colours is at the bottom).
Join Fiona Clayton on Monday on Create and Craft TV as she will be showcasing the new stamps and CD-Rom, you are going to love all the samples from the design team.
Keep an eye out on social media too as we are all sharing a few of our cards this weekend.

Spectrum Aqua pens used:

Skin - Spice and Jasmine
Hair – Jasmine, Desert and Boulder
Top – Peacock Blue
Shorts – Navy ...
Boots and ball – Black

Have a great crafty weekend!
Happy Colouring

Football Crazy!

Hi all, I'm sharing a card I made for my son's birthday recently, he's football mad!

I had already used this image once before for him, but I had seen a really great tutorial on the Spectrum Noir website by Laine Webb for making your own 3D decoupage, and knew this little guy would look great 3D'd up!  So I followed Laine's fab instructions and set about creating a 3D card.

Firstly I had to print him out 5 times as he was a digital image, then I cut out the layers as follows:

I then coloured each of those parts as follows:

Did you spot that I accidentally coloured the whole of his T-shirt?!

The colours I used were:

Hair - EB1, EB2, EB3, EB6,
Bandana - TB3, TB4, Blender, Pencil 120...
Skin - FS8, FS3, FS5
Hat - BGR1, BGR2
Top - TB3, TB5,TB6, TB7Pencil 120
Trousers - TB4, TB8, TB9
Shoes - BGR1, BGR2, TB2, TB3

To make the background I sponged my Pebeo Dyna acrylic paints onto a piece of black card

When it was dry I used a white gel pen to draw a double line around the edge and to write Happy Birthday Harry, only then did I run it through the stonewall embossing folder from Crafters Companion

I wanted the writing to look like graffiti

I finished the card by layering up all the decoupage elements, making sure I shaped all the pieces to give good dimension and used Collall 3D gel to add more height.
My Son Loved his card as much as I did, and was glad to have had the inspiration from Laine to do something a little different.
There are lots of tutorials on the Spectrum Noir blog and Facebook pages, why not have a good look, you can follow the links by clicking on the highlighted words.

Thanks for popping in today,
Happy Colouring

May Spectrum Noir Challenge - use flowers!

Wow, nearly the middle of May already? that must mean that this months challenge on the Spectrum Noir Facebook page is well under way, have you entered yet?

If all you need is a bit of inspiration....here is my design team card...

The theme is - Use Flowers.
you can interpret the theme however you want, so you could add flowers as a finishing touch, or colour flowers with your markers, pencils or Spectrum aquas, or just use a flowery backing paper its up to you!

For my card I have used an image from Theeastwind and coloured her with my Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils in these colours:

Skin: 004, 005, 009, 089 120
Eye: 057, 059
Hair: 089, 091, 095, 120
Dress: 015, 020, 120...
Background: 015, 022
she has some daisies in her background so used that as a basis for the rest of the card, I printed a couple of backing papers from the Crafters Inspiration CD-Rom from Crafters Companion, and used them on my card, then die cut daisies using a Die'Sire quilling die out of the printed papers I had left over.
I hope this inspires you to add your cards into the challenge, don't forget there is a prize too!
You can add it here and see the rest of the design teams cards as well.

Happy Colouring!
