Oh What a beautiful Morning!

Goodness how bright is it today? don't worry I won't sing!

This morning I'm sharing another card I made for the lovely Lorna, this time using the brand new Pebeo Studio Acrylics Dyna range of paints.

OH MY GOSH, I LOVE these paints! I have to apologise, as in none of my photos could I capture the sheer gorgeousness that they have, I don't think I have ever seen a liquid paint as iridescent as these, and the only thing that comes remotely close are the Twinkling H2O's, but these have the body and substance that they don't.

The paints, in my opinion, work best on dark surfaces, so my card was created on black card, I used soft baby sponges, and sponged onto my card.

I used Sheens Douglass's Wild Rose Briar set of stamps and heat embossed with a black powder, the flowers were stamped onto a plain piece of black card then I painted them with my paints, a little tip, use your finger to wipe off any excess paint that may be on the embossing as when its dry I will not shift!

I hope you like my little creation today, and thank you for stopping by, if you like what I do, please feel free to follow my blog, you just have to click the button on the right hand side bar.

Happy colouring!

Late again!

Happy St. Georges day Ladies & Gentlemen, yes you will probably notice that I am a little late with my post this week, yet again blogger has messed me about, ho-hum what to do?
Think about it another day...that sounds like a plan!

Today I want to share with you a cute little card, I made for my friend Lorna, and I have used one of the lovely Sheena Douglas animal stamps she launched recently.

I think you will agree he is a very handsome pony, and just the sort I would of loved to have as a child growing up!
I coloured him with my Spectrum Noir blendable pencils, the colours I used were:
089, 090, 095, 098 & 120

I thought he would look good with a long white blaze, as he reminded me of an old friends pony Sirocco, named after the Mediterranean wind, he was very fast!.. I was too frightened to ride him!

I put him on quite a simple card, background and added some of Sheena's perfect partners die cut leaves, the sentiment was also on the stamp sheet, and I finished it with some pearls, ribbon and flowers to make it a card any little girl would love.

Thanks for joining me today,
Happy Colouring x

Nicky.

Colouring folds in fabric.

Hi everyone, apologies for my post being late, I had a technology free weekend, and forgot to do my scheduling before hand, I know, I gave myself a big slap on the wrist!

Today I want to show you a card I made that has an image with LOTS of fabric folds, but its dead easy to do if you follow the instructions set out by Dilyana over on the Spectrum Noir blog, heres a link to her fab tutorial, she shows you how to colour using 4 markers, but I wanted to see if I could use the same technique but with my pencils.

So to colour the skirt on this lovely Make it Crafty image, I used 034, 035, 029 and 120, and for her top I used 078, 080, 082 and 029, again following Dilyana's instruction.

Her Skin is coloured with 005, 009 and 089, and her hair is 084, 087 and 089, her shoes are the same colours as her top.
As I put so much work into the colouring, I felt that she needed to have a very simple card base, so I printed the sentiment, also from make it crafty, directly onto a card blank, then cut cut her out and mounted her onto the front of the card, and finished it off with a simple black outline around the edge.
I hope you like my card, and take the time to follow the tutorial on the Spectrum Noir blog.

Happy colouring!

Its challenge time again!

Happy Easter  everyone has the Easter bunny been yet? its not just all about the chocolate though....
Because its time for a new challenge over on the Spectrum Noir Facebook page!
Have you entered yet??? don't forget you could win a prize!!

So what's the theme this month I here you ask? Die cuts, so any card you enter has to have some kind of die cut element to it, how you interpret this is up to you.

Here's my card!

I used a Spellbinders frame die, a Sizzix label die, and a Sheena Douglass floral die! I know i'm just greedy like that!

I used my Spectrum Noir pencils to colour this lovely Mo Manning image, here's the list of colours:

Lamb; 112, 117
Skin; 89, 95
Hair; 089, 095, 096, 104, 120
Dress & socks; 034, 035, 029
Cardi, shoes and daffodils; 010, 013 stems; 052
Basket; 087

I hope you all have a lovely and relaxing holiday weekend, and you get lots of colouring time in,

Something a little different from me today!

Hi everyone, I hope you didn't eat too many hot cross buns yet! I'm trying to be good and haven't had any, I'm saving myself for Sunday as my Mum as bought me a large dairy free Easter egg!

Today I want to share with you the third card I made for the Stampendous/Spectrum Noir collaboration that we are running at the moment, and this particular card is somewhat different than my normal cards, but I wanted to showcase how many different ways you can use the same stamp.

So I used the same cling Bowl Bouquet stamp from Stampendous, as before, as well as their Friendly phrases word stamp set, but only stamped the flowers into the corner of a small square of card, then heat embossed it with the embossing powder from the Teal Frantage encrusted kit, from Stampenous, and then I watercoloured across the whole card with just 3 of my
Spectrum Aquas, Kingfisher, Sunflower and Red Violet.

When it was dry I added a little more of the colours into the large rose at the front, and added a bit of white gel pen as an accent.
I then got out the rest of the Frantage kit and randomly sprinkled bits in different areas carefully heating from underneath, so as not to blow the product around, plus it makes quite a bit of mess if you do that!!!

I love the effects you can get with the fragments and different powders, I really felt that I was making art happen!

I hope I have inspired you to make your own little piece of art today,
Happy Easter everyone

Same stamp different medium!

Today I'm showing you how using my SN blendable pencils can give you a completely different look to the Stampendous stamp that I used with Aqua pens on Monday.

On this card I picked out some of the colours that were in the beautiful backing papers, I also used the same card template from The House of Zandra but used it to shape an 8"x8" card blank.

The Spectrum Noir pencils I used are :
 Leaves: 44, 57, 54, 55
Large front rose: 11, 44, 54, 57, 15
Glass: 55, 11
Daisies: 62, 54, 55 / 4, 15, 89 / 5, 9, 22
rose: 5, 9, 22
All shadows 120

I'm hoping you agree that this card looks completely different from the one on Monday! and that you are enjoying all the blog posts from the design team, you will find all the inspiration you could need on the Facebook page and Spectrum Noir Blog

I will have one final card to share with you on tomorrow, Good Friday, again using the same stamp,
Happy colouring everyone!
